This project, which is currently under construction, involves the remodelling, refurbishment and two-storey extension of a 1950’s dwelling. The rear kitchen and dining room is transformed by their amalgamation and extension to form an open plan kitchen / living / dining area with large covered openings affording access to the back garden. The conversion of the garage into service spaces such as the utility and shower room allows for the original house to be maximised.

The project is part of the SEAI Deep Retrofit scheme which will bring the BER rating of the home from it's existing D rating to an A3. This will incorporate advanced sustainable heating services and is achieved by the insertion of carefully detailed internal insulation and thermally superior glazing, and the implementation of air-tightness measures.
