Originally built in the 1930’s for the City Council, this semi-detached two storey house required full renovation, remodelling and extension on the ground floor to take advantage of its south facing rear garden and harness the light and warmth of this ideal building orientation.

The proposed extension is clad in natural timber slats giving it a richness in tactility and texture, and creating interesting shadow play between the vertical members as the sun moves along its path during the day. A large frameless fixed picture window to the garden is aligned on a central axis from front to back of the house, offering seamless visual connections from internal to external spaces.
