Precipice Shelter
Location: West Highland Way, Scotland
Status: Competition Entry
This project was an architectural exploration of timber truss construction. The need for a hiker’s shelter and rest stop was identified on the well-known trail. The proposal was to anchor the structure to the edge of a precipice, thereby providing safe views of the valley below. The inherently strong, timber truss system was developed to read as a falling cube when clad in marine-grade plywood.
